The short version

• Adults (parents and teachers): your email address, when it was verified, your confirmation that you are 18 or older, your interface language, and a sign-in session that expires after 7 days.
• Children: a nickname, a year level, the date a parent consented, and a one-way hash of the PIN. No real name, birthday, school, photo, child email or phone number — we do not ask for them and there is nowhere to type them.
• Learning records: the answers a learner gives, the sentences they write, the scores a teacher confirms, and the teacher's signed note. These belong to the family's account and are what the parent report is built from.
• We never train a model on a child's work, never show advertising, and never sell or rent data.

Why we store it

To sign a parent in without a password, to keep each child's learning separate on a shared account, to let a teacher read and score written work, and to show a family the evidence behind every number on the report. Nothing is collected for any other purpose.

Who sees it

A teacher on Questant's reviewer list sees a learner's nickname, year level, answers and writing in order to review them; nothing else. Operators see accounts and records only to run the service and answer support requests. Four companies help us run it, each for one job: Render hosts the servers and the database in Singapore; Resend delivers sign-in codes (your email address reaches it for that purpose only); Stripe takes payments (Questant never sees a card number); and a language-model provider (Anthropic or OpenAI) pre-scores written work under terms that do not allow it to train on that text. Data may therefore be processed outside the country you live in; we send no name, email or contact detail of a child to any of them, because we do not hold one.

How AI is involved

A language model builds the lesson stories, drafts a note a teacher can use or ignore, and pre-scores written work. The text a learner writes is sent to the model for that pre-scoring. It is not used to train the model, and no score reaches a family until a teacher has confirmed it.

Cookies and storage

One HttpOnly session cookie keeps you signed in. The browser also remembers your interface language, your year selection and, for a learner, the family code you last used, so you do not have to type them again. There are no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Retention and your rights

Records stay while the account exists. A parent can archive a learner in the family workspace; archived records are kept so that a restored learner keeps their history. To export or delete an account and every record in it, write to info@questant.app from the address on the account. We answer within 30 days; after a deletion request you have 14 days to change your mind, then we remove identifying account and learner data and keep only the financial records the law requires. Children

A child never creates an account. A parent or guardian creates the learner, chooses the nickname and PIN, and confirms consent. Questant is designed so that a child's identity is never needed to learn.
